Not much insight on the academy but it occurs to me - you interested in being in a reading group at WisCon? Not sure if you know Melodie Bolt (poet and author of pagan fiction, BUer) but she and one of her writing group friends who has a few stories out approached me about doing a group. We need at least 4 and I was told to recruit. :-) I enjoyed reading with you at CONvergence (and need folks for an RFR there in 2009 as well, hint, hint) and wondered if you'd be interested.
