I remember watching that series for the first time back when it first aired on Masterpiece Theater. I picked it up a year ago on DVD and rewatched it, and it was just as good as I remembered it being - even better, perhaps, as I'm now able to appreciate nuances my younger self undoubtedly missed. It really is a real masterpiece!
