Someone asked Charles Vess and Holly Black what they do for fun.

It's a good question for writers. What do you do for fun? Answer can not be writing or reading...

Honestly, a lot of the time I like to just sit and think -- watch people go by, or talk to myself (silently, not like a crazy lady *g*), or imagine things, or reminisce. I could probably amuse myself in an empty room for quite a long time.

As far as more socially acceptable pastimes, I like to watch movies and visit museums and historic places. I love musical theatre, although I can rarely afford to see shows. I've also been known to get obsessed with learning to do various things -- I taught myself to juggle and touch-type as a teenager, and when I decided to teach TC to read, I spent endless hours teaching myself how to teach reading first.

Interesting question!

Cook, Sew, get massages... I also occasionally bead, paint miniatures, and do house hold improvement projects. We watch a lot of movies, too, I suppose!

I also game, too -- though not too much of that over the past 6 months -- seems to be very little time for that kind of thing lately! :-)

There's life outside of reading and writing? :P

Just kidding.

Um, lessee, I'm learning how to knit which I think is big fun (yes, I AM 10). For fun, I'm pretty time limited these days, but I like being out on the river with the hubby, or farting around on the 'net and talking to friends, or watching episodes of LOST or some other TV show. Most of the time, it's any activity that allows me to rest my brain these days. After listening to doctors go on and on all day with words that are 24 letters long...I needs me some down time for the brain pan.

Now, if I could get my sewing machine in operating order again, I could say that I enjoy teaching myself little things on sewing. I made a couple sets of curtains from bedsheets and...

*headdesk*

I should really get out more often. I'm gonna stop rambling now.

Have you a good nite, C!

Stick on a DVD and take a nap. The sound of the TV soothes me to sleep.

Other than sleeping and TV and LiveJournal :), I like to play Boggle with my mom and aunt. We play the 5 x 5 cube style with no timer, so we get loads of words and have the best time...Hey, I should go over there today!

Watch/listen to sports, go to the beach, travel, bake. Oh! And I love doing coloring books. I've got the neatest mandala coloring book that is incredibly soothing.

It's a shame I didn't know you were there, or I would have loved to say hi and meet in person, since we've exchanged a couple comments here in cyberspace. Oh, well; next time!

Hey, you didn't answer for yourself!

Driving fast, listening to music or playing it myself, or setting up elaborate and amusing dioramas with food products and photographing them. Okay, that last one not so much as the others, but it's an important part of who I am.
